I am so blessed to be the mama of these beautiful and active six children. Our oldest is eleven and youngest is 14 months old.  They keep our household hopping with enthusiasm and sometimes chaos… usually joyful chaos.

“Now this is the commandment, the statues and the rules that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you may DO them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, that you may fear the Lord your God, you and your son(s) and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I commanded you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long… You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” Duet. 6:1-8

“My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.  Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. Keep your heart with vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.  Put away crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.  Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.  Ponder the path at your feet; then all your ways will be sure.” Proverbs 4:20-26

These verses I share here are some of the Many inspiring and equipping verses in scriptures that have impressed upon my heart God’s mission for parenthood.

As a mom I am passionate about Leaving a generational legacy with my children.  For our family, that pursuit has led us to the decision to home educate our children.  The Lord has been faithful to us in this area as well and we so enjoy our time with our blessings.  It’s hard work, but its so worth it.

As a mom, I feel part of my job description is to “know” my children well… to “study” them and help them to develop what God has already put there as their passions in life.

Every child is so unique, this has truly been a fun adventure.  It’s so rewarding when you engage your child in a way that connects with who they are.

Work Hard Together, Play Hard Together!

One of our family mottos is: “Work Hard Together, Play Hard Together!”  We have a small farm & our Damascus Vineyards on our property which all the kids participate in caring for.  We keep busy, reading, writing, sewing, gardening, canning, freezing our harvest, playing outside, going on field trips, swimming, and we love Music.  We have lots of it in our house.  Music is what helps set the right atmosphere in our home… when ever someone has a stinky heart attitude (including mom), it can usually become transformed with some moving worship music.  For fun the we LOVE, love, love to RV all over the place.  I have found this to be an avenue for me to have much needed cuddle/talk time with my kiddos one on one.  At home, life can get crazy busy and it is so strengthening to just get away and focus on our relationships without all the distractions of home life.

Another thing we love to do as a family is support my husband’s businesses. Our family works as a team and we get involved with daddy’s work as often as possible.  Everything from RV-ing to conferences together, hospitality in our home, hosting meetings at our home, the kids taking turns “going to work with daddy,” and simply talking about work with the kids, teaching them about leadership.  We do not believe in compartmentalizing our life.  Instead, we believe we are all called to be missionaries, wherever we are at.  For us that means that our children get to participate with us in ministering to those around us and through Isaac’s work especially.  This philosophy has really been edifying for all our family.

With all these plates spinning, I am more aware of my NEED for Jesus’ power in my life.   I am desperate at times for His PATIENCE, SELFCONTROL, His SELFLESS NATURE… my need for more of Him.
