Kelsey has been doing swim lessons nearly all year and having a great time. She was born with a under developed trachia which causes here to have difficulty breathing when she exerts herself in constant exercise. It is nothing too serious… she has an inhaler just like kids who have been disgnosed with asthma to open her air way. At the beginning of the year her instructor was very concerned by the breathing “noises” she was making. It scared her and was always concerned. Now after months of swimming she seems to be doing sooo much better. She still makes the “noise,” but not as often. We actually haven’t even used the inhaler since December. Praise the Lord for His protection and healing. The majority of instructors have commented that, though not scientifically proven, swimming is good for people with asthma because the moist air opens their air ways. Good to know for those who have kids with asthma. It is working for our daughter and now she loves swimming!
