Now that Isaac is done with most of his traveling, it is time to start getting ready for the baby. Boy has this pregnancy flown by! With June quickly approaching (the month of birth), the kids are getting really excited! They went with me to my appointment yesterday and we took some great pictures of the kids playing with the baby models, listening to the baby’s heart beat, and playing in the “birthing tub.”
We are having the baby at Andaluz Waterbirth Center in Tualatin (hopefully I make it there). My whole experience has been so different from that of the hospital. First of all, the are very family oriented. The have a play area in the “family room” (reception area) and they don’t mind if the kids go in and out of the room to get new toys while my appointment is going on. They are more than willing to answer any questions the kids have about the birth or the instruments they use to listen to the baby. My kids love it there too. It is nice for a change to go into a room that we all fit in. Those tiny appointment rooms at the hospital and doctor’s offices are so small and so often they want to poke and pry where they don’t need to so you feel like you can’t bring your kids with you anyway. The kids have learned so much from going with me on my appointments. It’s like a fun field trip every time.
