Lead Your Family Like Jesus- Book Review

When I was invited to sign up to be on the team for the Lead Your Family Like Jesus Launch Team... my initial reaction was... oh man I don't know if I can do that right now... I just launched my first self-published book also, and I am tuckered out. BUT, the title alone justified me looking into it. I thought to myself, I love this message already! This is a like-minded message! For [...]

Pray like Paul

I have had this itch to share all these thoughts with you for some time and simply can't get it all out on paper/on the website because I am living it. Nevertheless, God has not allowed me to be satisfied with sharing with a few these gleanings from scripture and urged me to tell you here. I pray you are encouraged. Here is my heart- raw- honest- and totally just me. Over the past year [...]

An Easter Tradition that Decorates Your Home, Creates a Project for Your Kids, and Recycles Your Christmas Tree

Remember the Cross We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. Psalm 78:4   Teach them to your children and your children's children.  In all the traditions, the holidays throughout the year, we need to remember that Jesus died for us to live in freedom from bondage. What God Does In The Dark & Giveaway

{Giveaway of "Holey, Wholly, Holy: A Lenten Journey of Refinement" scroll down} Winter weighs heavy on me, a smothering blanket of cold, gray-skied days. I consume too much coffee and long for the comfort of a good book and my bed. Winter can feel like a dead season, and me, well, I'm not much for winter--it's too hard. In the hollows of these longer winter afternoons I find comfort in remembering, for everything there is [...]

Afraid

Today I am joining in for my first every Five Minute Friday over at Lisa-Jo's Blog! This is my first time ever writing a post "for" a link up, but the word afraid moved my spirit when I saw it as a post title on another friend's blog. Afraid "i'm cared...i'm cared...mooom" I hold him tight, cuddled in the fetal position as a mama bear to her cub in a cold summer's night. He was scared. [...]

Break My Heart for what Breaks Yours

My heart is heavy for the injustice of babies today. I myself was "advised to terminate three of my pregnancies because of health issues, but because of my faith in Jesus Christ and knowing the truth that a fetus IS a baby, a gift and blessing from God, the decision was easy for me to make. It is not so easy for many women today. Our culture has diluted the truth and made excuses to [...]

Hope for the Lonesome Woman

"Why, my soul, are you downcast?    Why so disturbed within me?Put your hope in God,    for I will yet praise him,    my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:11, NIVAs we have been talking about Authentic Community, The Lonesome Mother, and The Legacy of the Lonesome Mother, I have had on mind to talk about hope. I mentioned in the last post on this topic, that I in no way advocate finding our "fulfillment" for loneliness in other people. [...]

Mary, did you know?

"Mary Did You Know?If you have not watched this video, please do... it is moving.I often think to myself as I listen to the lyrics, what was she sure of? We know from scripture, "The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not [...]
