This morning I got an email from World Vision about their Pakistan Team that was brutally attacked. Six of there missionary staff were shoot and killed and eight more are hospitalized with injuries. Most of the mission work is done by local citizens. The attack was unprovoked but has temporarily paralyzed the good works for carrying for families and children in poverty.

Let us be in prayer mourning these brothers and sisters who so sacrificially served others.

Jesus said,
“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

Mark 8:34-38

Let us also pray for those who were involved in the attack. That there hearts would be transformed and that they would see the error of there ways and come to repentance, being transformed by the power of God. I am deeply grieved by this.. sadly these kind of occurences are happening daily. We just don’t hear about them daily. For those of us who are so blessed to live with freedom of religion, let us pray we are never put in this predicament and if we are let us stand strong. Let us not forfeit our souls and may we be not ashamed of Jesus Christ or the gospel.

Lord help us to take up your cross and deny ourselves!
Amen
